Rainer Agster

Rainer has supported more than 20 financial institutions on green and climate finance, and has contributed as a key expert to technical assistance projects for financial institutions with more than one billion euros in green investments. He supported the growth of the SEED initiative from less than five award-winning enterprises to several thousand, including developing a dozen new components for business development support and access to green finance. Rainer also helped grow a think and do tank from 20 to 350 employees, e.g., by developing and scaling two new topical programmes Green Entrepreneurship and Green Finance.

Rainer founded aimplifin in July 2023.

Rainer conceptualises, leads and evaluates green finance and green entrepreneurship projects. He identifies green market opportunities, designs financial instruments based on an impact logic. He supervises the development and deployment of eligibility checking and impact estimation tools for financial intermediaries on green, climate and energy efficiency loans and develops semi-automated systems for appraising Green Enterprises.

Rainer facilitates, develops and implements co-creation workshops with enterprises, financial institutions, policy makers and other stakeholder groups with a strong capacity development element, which has been successfully applied in several hundred workshops. He moderates workshops from 5 to 500 participants producing tangible outcomes. His 10+ years of work relationships with clients and colleagues on an institutional and personal level are a result of his commitment to partnerships.
